Pre Botox & Filler Care Instructions
- Avoid alcohol for 24 hours before treatment.
- Avoid anti-inflammatory/blood thinning medications if possible at least 48 hours before treatment. These include medications and supplements such as aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo ginseng, St. John’s Wort, Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements, Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, Aleve and other NSAIDS. This will help avoid bruising.
- Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event which you may be attending, such as a wedding or a vacation.
Post Botox Care Instructions
- Do NOT manipulate or put any pressure on the treated area for 24 hours following the treatment.
- Do NOT receive facials, microdermabrasion, other facial treatments after Botox injections for at least 10 days.
- Do NOT lie down for at least 4 hours after your Botox treatment. Sitting in a reclined position is fine.
- Do NOT work out or do heavy lifting for 24 hours after treatment.
- Do NOT wear a headband or hat where the band goes across your forehead if you have had injections between the eyebrows or in the forehead.
- Washing your face gently is fine.
- You should exaggerate facial expressions in the injected areas for 1 hour after injections.
- If bruising appears, apply ice to the area for 15 minutes every hour to decrease bruising.
- The most common side effect is headache after Botox injections. You may use Tylenol to relieve this.
- Botox will gradually take effect over the next 7-10 days with the optimum result showing at 2 weeks after injections. If this is your first Botox treatment, we recommend scheduling a follow up appointment 2 weeks after your injections.

Post Filler Care Instructions
- Avoid significant movement or massage of the treated area unless instructed by the provider.
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours.
- Avoid sun for 72 hours.
- Avoid consuming excess amounts of alcohol or salts to avoid excess swelling
- If you have swelling, you may apply a cool compress for 15 minutes each hour.
- Use Tylenol or Advil or discomfort.
- NSAIDs like Ibuprofen, Motrin, Advil, and Aleve can help with swelling.
- Use Arnica gel or take Arnica tablets to help with bruising and swelling.
* Mild-moderate swelling, bruises, lumps and bumps can be normal after dermal fillers.
* Make an appointment to follow up in 2 weeks for touch ups if needed.
* Call if you are experiencing any significant pain, swelling, redness, or discoloration of the skin.
